The changing world of English fragrances
The English Scent looks back on a history rich in tradition since its foundation in 1994. Founded by Lothar Ruff, who had already discovered his passion for royal fragrances decades earlier, he passed the business on to his daughter Julia Ruff in 2020. The tradition changed and the shop in Goethestraße finally closed its doors at the end of 2021. Since then, things have continued online, in keeping with the spirit of the times.
Our online shop The English Scent still offers you the whole world of English fragrances. Discover brands such as Anglia Perfumery, Bronnley, D. R. Harris, Geo. F. Trumper, Floris, Truefitt & Hill, Yardley London. We also offer a wide range of grooming products and matching accessories for beard, shaving. For body care or hair care, we also have a large selection of shower gels or shampoos. We are also pleased to offer you high-quality fragrances in many variations.
From classic to niche perfume - strong English brands
The fragrance creations available from us all come from well-known and lesser-known English brands and manufacturers. These include companies that are still ennobled by the title "purveyors to the court". Some of the suppliers' foundations date back centuries. Yardley London in 1770, Truefitt & Hill in 1805, Penhaligon's in 1870, Taylor of Old Bond Street in 1854 or Floris London in 1730. Other manufacturers such as Castle Forbes look back on aristocratic family histories, some of which can be traced back to the 12th century.
In addition to numerous fragrances, we also offer body and skin care products. These include soaps from the English Soap Company, Imperial Leather or Pears. Here you can expect scents of lavender, sandalwood, bergamot, leather, cinnamon and orange. Manufacturers like D. R.
