The changing world of English fragrances
The English Scent can look back on a rich history since its foundation in 1994. Founded by Lothar Ruff, who discovered his passion for royal fragrances decades earlier, he left the business to his daughter Julia Ruff in 2020. The tradition changed, and the store on Goethestrasse finally closed its doors at the end of 2021. Since then, things have continued online.
Our online store The English Scent still offers you the whole world of English fragrances. Discover brands such as the Anglia Perfumery, Bronnley, D. R. Harris, Geo. F. Trumper, Floris, Truefitt & Hill, Yardley London. We also offer a wide range of grooming products and accessories for beards and shaving. We also have a large selection of shower gels and shampoos for body care and hair care. We are also pleased to offer you high-quality fragrances in many variations.
From classics to niche perfumes - strong English brands
The fragrance creations available from us all come from well-known and lesser-known English brands and manufacturers. These include companies that are still ennobled by the title "Purveyors to the Court". Some of these suppliers were founded centuries ago. Yardley London 1770, Truefitt & Hill 1805, Penhaligon's 1870, Taylor of Old Bond Street 1854 or Floris London 1730. Other manufacturers such as Castle Forbes look back on aristocratic family histories, some of which can be traced back to the 12th century.
In addition to numerous fragrances, we offer body and skin care products. These include soaps from the English Soap Company, Imperial Leather and Pears, among others.
