Immerse yourself in the sophisticated world of Floris London's 71/72 Eau de Parfum, a boldly aromatic composition created in collaboration with renowned shirtmakers Turnbull & Asser. This fragrance opens with a clear freshness of juniper, accompanied by pure citrus notes of mandarin and bergamot. The top note combines harmoniously with beguiling blossoms of jasmine and lavender as well as earthy tones of iris and oud.
Woody notes and spices unfold as the fragrance progresses, developing with warm, sensual nuances that embody the craftsmanship of fine tailoring. The base notes include sandalwood, boisamber and incense, which lend the fragrance a profound dimension. This eau de parfum is not only an olfactory masterpiece, it is also vegan.
71/72, named after Turnbull & Asser's flagship store on Jermyn Street, represents a unique partnership that began in spring 2015. The collaboration began with an exclusive fragrance range which, due to its popularity, became part of the Floris Private Collection.
This fragrance embodies self-confidence and understatement, elegance and eccentricity - an olfactory experience that expresses the passion for refined craftsmanship and the values of the people behind it.
Juan Famenias Floris came to England in 1730 from his native island of Menorca via Montepellier in France, where he had learned to mix scented essences, and settled in Jermyn Street, near the Royal Court of St. James and in the heart of gentleman's "club land" as a "barber" and "comb-maker", where he soon became the talk of London society with his products and succeeded. He created individual fragrances for his customers, the recipes for which he carefully stored so that he could supply them again when needed. He married Elizabeth Hodgkiss, with whom he had seven children.
The current company is run by the eighth generation, John Bodenham and Christopher Marsh, who are both great-great-grandchildren of Mary Anne Floris, herself a great-granddaughter of Juan, the founder. Mary Anne Floris had married James Bodenham, hence the change of family name. Over sixteen times the company has been awarded the title of Purveyor to the Court, and is now Perfumers to HM The Queen Elizabeth II and Manufacturers of Toilet Preparations to HRH The Prince of Wales.
