Floris London Lily Eau de Toilette is a balanced floral fragrance that exudes a stimulating warmth while leaving a soft yet lingering scent trail. Inspired by the lily of the valley flower, the perfumer has endeavored to preserve its natural character.

The freshness of the morning dew of flowers is enriched by a hint of Egyptian jasmine and Bulgarian rose. The sparkling notes of white tea lend a cleansing effect, while the soothing, woody-musky base leaves a delicate warmth on the skin.

This fragrance is reminiscent of the summer queen Beltane, draped in white lace and surrounded by lilies of the valley, the welcome of the new season and sun-drenched days.

Juan Famenias Floris kam 1730 von seiner Heimatinsel Menorca über Montepellier in Frankreich, wo er gelernt hatte, Duftessenzen zu mischen, nach England und ließ sich in der Jermyn Street, nahe dem Royal Court von St. James und im Herzen von Gentleman’s „Club-Land“ als „Barber“ und „Comb-Maker“ nieder, wo er mit seinen Produkten bald zum Gesprächsthema der Londoner Gesellschaft wurde und reüssierte. Für seine Kunden kreierte er individuelle Düfte, deren Rezepte er sorgfältig aufbewahrte, um sie bei Bedarf wieder nachliefern zu können. Er heiratete Elizabeth Hodgkiss, mit der er sieben Kinder hatte.

Die heutige Firma wird in der achten Generation geleitet von John Bodenham und Christopher Marsh, die beide Ur-Urenkel sind von Mary Anne Floris, ihrerseits eine Urenkelin von Juan, dem Gründer. Mary Anne Floris hatte James Bodenham geheiratet, daher der Wechsel des Familiennamens. Über sechzehn Mal wurde die Firma als Hoflieferant ausgezeichnet, jetzt ist sie „Perfumers to HM The Queen Elizabeth II“ und „Manufacturers of Toilet Preparations to HRH The Prince of Wales“.
