In other words, it's about penetrating the hair all the way to the scalp. The natural bristles embedded in natural elastic rubber are suitable for fine to normal hair.
Those with very fine, thin hair should go for the SB3 model, which has particularly soft bristles. For thicker manes, natural bristles alone cannot get through, so the mixed bristles (natural/nylon bristles) or - for very strong hair - the pure nylon bristles will help.
