Many consider the pneumatic brushes, invented by Mason Pearson of London in 1885, to be the best hairbrushes on earth. To this day, they are the epitome of high-quality, durable brushes of a certain type worldwide: Their primary purpose is to massage and stimulate the scalp, allowing blood to circulate to the hair roots. The goal is to penetrate the hair all the way to the scalp. The natural bristles, encased in natural, elastic rubber, are suitable for fine to normal hair.
Those with very fine, thin hair should opt for the SB3 model, which has particularly soft bristles. For thicker hair, natural bristles alone won't cut through, so the mixed bristles (natural/nylon) or—for very thick hair—pure nylon bristles can help. These brushes not only massage the scalp thoroughly but also thoroughly remove flakes. In the long run, there's no better remedy for dandruff than daily use of these brushes.
One more thing: At the end of a Mason Pearson brush, there's a small hole that shouldn't let water get into it. Therefore, if necessary, move the brush back and forth on the surface of a soapy solution, or better yet, clean it with the cleaning brush included with all models. The "B" in the model names stands for "Bristle," meaning natural bristles, "BN" for bristle/nylon, and "N" for nylon. The handles are available in black, ivory, blue, and pink.
