In 1805, Nelson won the Battle of Trafalgar and King George III sat on England's throne. In the same year, the history of Truefitt & Hill also began in fashionable Mayfair. Historically, this was a time of fine craftsmanship, styling and innovation. This era set the stage for a historic, colorful, inventive and forward-thinking story.
This period was characterized by the high standards of the London aristocracy. Good grooming and vanity were the essential characteristics of the gentleman. Truefitt created a completely new level of service for the discerning clientele, setting new standards worldwide. In 1935, Truefitt took over the hairdressing business from Edwin S. Hill & Co. Thus Truefitt & Hill was born.

From 1805 to today, Truefitt & Hill has been synonymous with unique innovation. In 2014, the company was recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest hair salon in the world.
